If you look up “provisioning coordinator” in the dictionary, you'll find a picture of Angela. She's truly amazing at her job. In her extensive experience in the telecommunications industry she has worked with a range of clients both on home soil and overseas in the Philippines, from telecommunications providers to large government agencies.
It's no wonder that Angela's favourite saying is, “Keep calm and stay positive”. She brings a pleasant approach to her work no matter how complex the project is. She recently undertook a challenging (and hopefully once in a lifetime!) project when she worked on the Ministry of Health's Covid-19 Immunization Programme and despite high pressure, her cool and composed demeanor never wavered.
When she is not provisioning services for our clients, Angela enjoys playing badminton, reading, and going for walks with her son.
With a long history of working in the telecommunications industry, Ben is a seasoned professional. His strategy planning and process development skills have made him an awesome leader for the business.
Ben spent 11 years working in the UK for value added resellers, managed service companies and multinational telecommunications such as Cable & Wireless Worldwide and Vodafone UK. While in the UK, Ben worked with major clients like Virgin Trains and Sealy UK, providing innovative but cost-effective solutions. Upon moving to New Zealand, Ben added a further 7 years of experience to his belt in consulting roles and developing a distribution and reseller channel for Telesmart.
When he isn't working alongside his awesome team at Telesmart, you'll catch him outside either snowboarding or hiking.
If you are looking for experience and enthusiasm in equal measure, look no further than Bhavin. With his work in Telecommunications, combined with a background in Business Information Systems, he brings a wealth of experience leveraging cloud services and private cloud solutions for any business.
His top specialist areas range from cloud-based services and telephony to video conferencing: ask him about the solutions you can find using Azure, Microsoft365, Microsoft Teams or Microsoft Teams Rooms.
Bhavin is driven and results-oriented, so it comes as no surprise that his favourite part of his job is taking on tough challenges and showing agility in an ever-evolving industry.
Brent has some serious experience under his belt. He has provided a range of Voice only and Voice & Data solutions to small, medium and large businesses across legal, health, and manufacturing.
Brent likes to let his clients immediate and long-term objectives guide him in finding a solution that will fit perfectly. He has worked on some extremely complex projects but credits excellent teamwork with both our internal team and his clients for his proven track record of success. One particular project he is proud of is setting up full internet services to support upwards of 300 users in a small milk company that started in an empty paddock outside of Gore. They have grown immensely since then and Telesmart still looks after them now, four years later!
When he doesn't have his head down working on his accounts, Brent can be found dirt bike riding, surfing or playing football. In short, anything that gets him outside and active!
Capturing your needs and providing you with the right support is what Bruce does best. He has many years of experience providing IT support for customers, installing and maintaining computer hardware and training staff.
Inland Revenue, Ministry for Primary Industries, Ministry of Health, and Access Community Health are just a snapshot of some of our largest customers that Bruce has worked with; and what he enjoys most about his work is when customers are happy.
Other than developing delighted customers, Bruce previously worked in his spare time as a professional photographer for news and sports media organisations in New Zealand and Australia.
Cameron, Telesmart’s very own optimist Network Engineer, will boost your day with just the right amount of positivity.
Having graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Information Systems, he has since passed the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification in addition to studies in Juniper and IT Security.
Cameron has advanced through the ranks from IT support and NOC work to Network Engineering. He adds great value to Telesmart as an experienced IT professional and network troubleshooter, with the ability to work with a variety of clients.
He is driven by the feeling of accomplishment he gets from resolving issues, and receives an inordinate amount of joy from seeing the packets flow across the network.
You will likely find Cam walking the streets of Wellington on any given day, as his motto is “why catch the bus to work when you can walk!”
An instrumental member of the team, Chris has extensive experience in the training and delivery of voice and data service deployments and migrations.
His involvement and experience in the presales investigation phase, through to the provisioning, cutover and support of a service to a site has gained him a wide area of knowledge within the NZ and AUS space.
He also uses his exceptional coordination skills outside of work, rocking his passion for music as a drummer.
Chris is one of our brilliant account managers, with a wealth of knowledge that he has developed over a staggering number of years working in the industry. His expertise spans a wide variety of companies from large corporates to SMEs.
Chris loves working with customers and helping them achieve their goals with the right solutions. You'll find him constantly researching the newest developments in solutions so he's always up to date with the latest and greatest. He loves his team almost as much as he loves a good Thai meal.
Evelyn's extensive experience in sales and marketing speaks for itself. After working for multiple global brands across Europe, Asia and North America, her career success lies in building and maintaining strong B2B relationships with clients and other stakeholders to achieve mutual business objectives.
Her core areas of expertise include business development and marketing strategy. Qualified with a Bachelor of Economics/International Business, Master of Global Business/Marketing. Evelyn's wealth of knowledge has enabled Telesmart to reach new heights with our marketing and communications strategy.
Outside of work, Evelyn loves watching the Big Bang Theory, cooking her beloved tomato egg stir-fry and staying active with outdoor activities like swimming and playing tennis.
Gemma enamours people, and she is adored in return. She is a natural “people person” - which is impressively evident in her role as one of our Helpdesk Engineers.
She promotes what she believes in, and that is, “To create a new standard, you have to be up for a challenge and really enjoy it.” - Shigeru Miyamoto. Technology drives her inquisitiveness, and her most recent accomplishment is to have graduated with a BIT degree, majoring in both Data Science and Software Development.
Her passion for her job is motivated by Telesmart's culture of constant career advancement. In addition to being an art and gaming enthusiast, she has professional skills from her time at EBGames which ideally positions her for gaming recommendations.
Gemma would be great company for any lover of all things Korean, with some Tteokbokki and an episode of Strong Girl Do Bong Soon.
Geof is one of the founding directors of the Telesmart group, so he has real stake in what we do. He has been working in IT and telecommunications for his entire professional career.
For Geof, nothing is more important than customer outcomes. His preferred practice is translating customer requirements into business outcomes with appropriate mix of technology, delivery, and commercials.
When not evangelising technology, Geof enjoys spending time with his family and the odd spot of gardening.
No one loves getting to the bottom of an issue as much as James does. He focuses his engineering wizardry on Microsoft 365 and Azure, and if you’ve ever contacted our help desk for anything to do with desktop or servers, it’s likely you would have spoken to him. Not only is he a problem-solving master, having been a part of the Telesmart team since 2017, James also holds a Bachelor of Information Technology from Wellington Institute of Technology.
When he’s done conjuring up top-notch solutions for our customers, James can be found on his Playstation with a nice glass of wine.
Jason is one of our most adept senior engineers. You won't catch him showing off about it (he's a humble guy), but Jason has worked with a huge range of clients over his many years in the industry. One thing he is proud of is his work travelling around the country visiting various remote sites to work closely with the local contacts help map and install Dect aerials for portable phone coverage.
It's a real labour of love for Jason. He loves the clients he works with and he loves the team here at Telesmart. He specialises in NEC, Enghouse interactive Communications Center and Microsoft Teams so if you're looking at any of those products you may well find yourself working with Jason (perhaps with a bit of Jazz on in the background - his favourite way to work)!
Never one to shy away from helping our clients achieve their goals, Kong brings his energy and experience to lead our team of IT engineers.
When working with Kong, you'll be working with someone who knows his stuff. Combining a Masters of Information Management from Victoria University with many years of experience, you'll find Kong brewing up the strongest solutions for our clients. Working across Microsoft 365, collaboration, as well as records and information management, he's known for keeping calm. He doesn't even get jittery when indulging in several coffees per day!
It's not hard to see why Mark is an incredible asset to Telesmart. His logical and methodical approach to problem solving has given him a proven track record of success.
With years of experience as his foundation, Mark has an unbeatable depth of knowledge about the products we provide. He has delivered solutions to small businesses as well as challenging multinational businesses, and never so much as broken a sweat (probably all that tramping he does on weekends keeping him fit).
Mark, our skillful developer, works on Telesmart’s vision of providing connected, automated systems by investing tremendous amounts of effort, time, creativity and hard work.
Mark is the epitome of raw passion towards one’s interest. He graduated with a master’s degree in engineering, and has since devoted many years of service as an IT engineer and developer. He has continued upskilling himself with certifications in Linux and database administration, storage technologies, ITIL processes, web development and more.
Every day at Telesmart Mark looks forward to new challenges and opportunities. We're not sure what drives other developers, but curiosity definitely motivates Mark in his work. Is it surprising that a software professional once served in the British Army?
For fun, Mark likes to investigate scams and infiltrate cult groups, and then record podcasts and speak on the radio about his skepticism. He’s also fascinated by lock picking, hardware hacking and training AI algorithms.
You could certainly say Mark has experience, with his many decades of experience working in Telecommunications. He's an example of someone who worked his way up and therefore has hands on experience on every facet of this business, from technician all the way to project management, sales and design.
Mark prefers to be out at sea, sailing as often as he can, but when we have him on dry land, he is a trusted pair of hands for putting design and structure in place around a project. He has a thorough understanding of the many components that constitute a successful project and strives to achieve that for every client he works with.
No telecommunications solution is too complex for Matt (so long as he's had his morning coffee). A strategic thinker, he has an excellent eye for detail that has enabled him to deliver solutions to a variety of clients over his many years in the industry.
Yes, Matt's job includes sales, but the sale isn't the priority for him. Translating your business strategy into a holistic solution is. Because of that, he has a proven track record of satisfied clients ranging from the little guy, all the way to large multinationals.
If you ask Matt what his superpower is, he'll tell you it's plain English. He never bamboozles a client or prospect with jargon.
Moh is an awesome PMO team lead and an absolute powerhouse when it comes to project and programme management, and consultation. He loves that every project comes with a new set of challenges to deal with, people to meet, and things to learn.
Moh believes that no project is too big, as long as it can be split into smaller tasks, streams and deliverables with clearly identified dependencies. Moh participated in and led the deployment of several mega-scale & prestigious ICT/Telecom projects, such as the radio access network modernisation for Dubai Mobile network (More than 3500 cell site), and the In-Building coverage Solution for Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the highest building in the world!
He's been in the industry for a long time, so you know you can trust him at the helm of your project. Join him out for a traditional middle eastern meal (his absolute favourite food) and you'll be off to a great start.
If it's experienced guidance you're looking for, you won't find better than Paul. He has decades of experience working with a number of large multinational clients, including BHP, Rio Tinto, Singapore Airlines, Saudi Airlines and Fonterra.
An expert in professional services management, Paul is passionate about providing an exceptional quality of service to a diverse range of clients. Sick of the same old strategies? Paul approaches things with an innovative mindset and believes that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
Peter uses a consultative approach to driving relationships with our clients, focusing on outcomes rather than simply promoting specific products.
Having joined Telesmart in early 2018 with many years of experience already in the telecommunications and office products industries, Peter gets revved up by the completeness of the technology that we offer. It's safe to say he knows a thing or two about voice, data and video, using his expertise to partner with our clients from initial concept right through to the operational solution we create.
When he is not ensuring our clients get exceptional outcomes, he can usually be found tinkering away in the garage on his classic cars or working on a DIY project. We like to think of Peter as an active relaxer, always on the hunt for a new project.
Reme is a consultant, and a good one at that. He specializes in getting business apps and people working effectively together. He's worked in the Information Technology arena for over a decade, but before that he worked in management for 6 years so he's a passionate project manager too.
With a mix of experience with both public and private sector clients, Reme is an all-rounder. He enjoys using his analytical and critical thinking to learn key systems, finding the best way to maximise their capabilities within any given organisation.
He's a bit of a dare devil outside the office. Mountain biking, free diving and spear fishing, and riding his motorbike are just a few of the things he fills his weekends with, but when he's at work he's one of our most trusted pair of hands.
Richard has a wealth of experience in the industry. He is a whiz with systems architecture and getting the right solution rolled out smoothly in your business.
With Richard, no member of your team is left behind. He knows that for our technology to work, everyone needs to buy into strong organisational policies and get excellent technical support/guidance. By the time he's finished, we can promise your team will be experts with whatever system has been implemented. We can also promise they'll be sick of his dad jokes but try not to hold that against him!
Over his time in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector, Ron has honed his skills as an excellent service delivery manager, building strong partner relationships, ensuring appropriate IT service management practices are used to the benefit of assigned managed services customers, ensuring they are delighted with services provided by Telesmart. He is an expert with office relocation, business merger and IT and communications, project management. In 2011, after the Christchurch office was damaged in the earthquakes Ron remotely project managed the ICT setup for a new office in just six weeks while also supporting the displaced Christchurch team's new and evolving remote working ICT needs.
You could say Ron has a bit of a green thumb, growing the world's best cherry tomatoes in his garden or building recycled timber into furniture in his home workshop but his real passion lies in growing New Zealand businesses by delivering top notch solutions. He finds joy in developing trusting relationships with his clients and addressing the unique challenges each of them faces.
If you are looking for excellent support surrounding firewalls, VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) and overarching technical issues, look no further than Ronaldo. With his years of experience, he has mastered the art of troubleshooting issues of all shapes and sizes.
His expertise lends itself to both residential and business customers, helping solve a range of technical concerns with Internet access, Email and VOIP services via phone, email and in-person. When he isn't working with our customers and providing excellent technical support, Ronaldo can be found cycling, eating roasted pork or watching his favourite TV show, The Chase.
Ross is one of the founding directors of Telesmart. Leading our sales team, he is an ace at consultative selling. With a strong background in solution design and account management, he brings a balanced perspective: being technically minded, but also business and people-focused.
With his in-depth experience in telecommunications, Ross gets a great deal of satisfaction from serving customers with design solutions that make a real difference to their day-to-day operations.
When he's not driving results for our customers, Ross can be found working on his backhand, playing tennis or badminton.
Think of Shane as the conductor and the team implementing your project as the symphony. He's the one who brings it all together, ensuring your projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Shane is a PMI Agile Certified Practitioner, and holds PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner certifications with decades of experience in telecommunications. He's worked with some of the biggest organisations in New Zealand including Westpac, Foodstuffs, and the Ministry for Business, Innovation and Employment.
Fittingly, Shane also has a passion for playing music himself. He spends much of his spare time playing guitar.
After many, many years in the Telecommunications industry, no project is too big for Sridhar. In his time with Telesmart, he has worked with almost every one of our clients - including rolling out several of our largest projects to date.
As a true team player with a talent for leading teams and projects with a smile (no matter the size or scale), Sridhar's contribution to the Telesmart team is priceless. His achievements range from single-site satellite links to large-scale government projects, including linking 28 District Police Head Quarters with over 3,000 users.
Known for his sunny disposition inside and outside the office, it's no surprise that when asked about his favourite part of his job - Sridhar said “everything”. If you are looking for someone to provide excellent technical support, as well as unmatched customer service, Sridhar is the person to talk to.
With many years of Telecommunication experience, and an impressive range of large-scale projects under his belt, Tim is an essential part of the Telesmart team and all the work we do.
Starting out as our Head of Platform Operations over nine years ago, and moving into his current role as Chief Technology Officer in 2020, Tim is an outstanding well of knowledge and experience. Over the last decade, he has consulted on projects for major clients at a national and global level, including Telecom New Zealand International (now Symbio) — one of the largest international voice and messaging carriers in the world.
His proudest achievement to date has been building several internet service providers, carrier data and voice networks from scratch (including Telesmart’s network). We are very lucky to have his expertise on board.
Outside of work, Tim can typically be found tinkering with his massive Lego collection, out in the field dressing a horse hoof injury, or completing a Rubik’s cube in under two minutes. He is a man of many talents!
